Common questions
How realistic are the coloring pages?
Very. We trace the actual contours, facial features, and details from your photo. The result is a line art version that looks like your photo — not a generic cartoon. People will recognize themselves, their pets, and the places in the pictures.
What kind of photos work best?
Clear, well-lit photos work best. Family portraits, pet photos, landscape shots, wedding pictures, and vacation photos all produce stunning results. Even phone photos work great.
Can I see a preview before I buy?
Yes. Upload your photos and we'll generate a free watermarked sample of a few pages so you can check the style before paying. If you like what you see, complete checkout and we'll print and ship the full book.
Can I review my coloring book before it prints?
Yes. After checkout, BLNKBooks creates a preview for you to review. Nothing is sent to print until you approve it. If a page does not look right, you can flag it for correction and we'll regenerate that page before you approve the final book. Every order includes up to 20 free revisions in total, with no more than 2 on any one page.
How is this different from other coloring books?
Other coloring books have generic flowers, cartoon characters and clip art. BLNKBooks creates coloring pages from YOUR actual photos. Every page is unique to your memories.
Can I make a whole book from multiple photos?
Absolutely — that's the main product. Choose a 48-page book (24 drawings) or a 64-page book (32 drawings), in softcover or hardcover, and we'll compile your photos into a single bound coloring book, one drawing per page.
What should I color with?
Colored pencils work best, and crayons work well too. Markers are fine, but some can soak through the paper, so slip a sheet of paper behind the page you're coloring.
Do you ship worldwide?
Not yet — we currently serve the United States only, and that applies to digital downloads as well as printed books. Standard shipping is free within the US; a faster option is offered at checkout for a flat rate. We'd like to open up other countries and intend to, but we want to meet each one's consumer-protection and tax rules before taking those orders rather than after.
How long will my book take to arrive?
After you review and approve your book, printing typically takes 3-5 business days. Your book ships within 10 business days of your approval; most ship in 3-5. Business days are Monday through Friday. Once printing is complete, your selected shipping method begins. For example, next-business-day shipping means approximately one business day after the book has finished printing, not one business day after placing your order.
Production and shipping times are estimates and may take longer during holidays, periods of high demand, or carrier delays.
Can I expedite printing?
No. Expedited shipping can shorten transit time after printing, but the custom printing process itself cannot be expedited.
